About BAPA

The Boulder Asian Pacific Alliance (BAPA) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to create opportunityes for the Asian and Pacific Island communities to interact, support, promote and preserve the diverse Asian and Pacific Island cultures with each other and with the city and county of Boulder Colorado.

BAPA strives to work with other organizations (Boulder City, Boulder County, non-profits, businesses, etc.) to promote visibility, awareness, appreciation and understanding of the rich, diverse cultures and heritage of the Asian and Pacific Island communities.

Throughout the year, we participate in various community events and activities. BAPA actively supports the Boulder County Community Action Program, Boulder International Film Festival, Asian Pacific Alliance of Longmont (A-PAL), City of Longmont's Annual Inclusive Celebration, Boulder County Community Trust Advisory Committee, Boulder Public Library, Boulder City's Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration, Boulder Creek Festival, Pi Delta Psi Fraternity at the University of Colorado, Center for Asian Studies (CAS) at the University of Colorado, and MORE!

Aya Medrud

During the January 2013 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration at the University of Colorado, Aya Medrud was honored and recognized for her numerous contributions to the community. She is one of the founding members of BAPA and has done tremendous work to educate, unite, and promote cultural awareness and sensitivity in our community.
